Admission requirements
Entry into Edith Cowan College is assessed on the basis of a student's academic background and English language proficiency. Mature-aged applications may also be admitted with advanced standing on the basis of relevant work and life experience.
English Requirements
The medium of instruction for all courses taught at ECC is English. Applicants must be able to demonstrate their English language proficiency before they enter an ECC program.
English language proficiency can be determined by submitting evidence of Year 12 studies or IELTS Test scores, or Pearson English Test scores or equivalent as shown in the table below.

Some courses have special requirements linked to professional accreditation or to demonstrate proficiency, aptitude or talent in the creative and performing arts.

English Language
The medium of instruction for all courses taught at ECC is English. Applicants must be able to demonstrate their English language proficiency before they enter an ECC program. This can be met by obtaining one of the results shown in the table below.
A free, non-credit Academic Support Unit (ADU100) will be available each study period. Students may choose to enrol in this unit voluntarily or enrolment may be imposed as a prerequisite or corequisite to other units of study.

Mature-Age Entry
Mature-age students (aged 20 or above) may be considered for entry into a program without meeting the formal academic requirements. Applicants will need to apply via Portfolio Entry, and will be required to provide a written statement of purpose, evidence of work experience, a CV, and other supporting documents.
