Diploma of Science (Computing/IT) introduces you to the disciplines of computer science, software engineering, computer security, information technology and other emerging fields. All computing courses at ECU are developed in consultation with the IT industry and have received the Australian Computer Society’s highest level of accreditation (Level 1).

Bachelor of Computer Science

Artificial intelligence and distributed computing are studied alongside the chosen area of specialisation: Cyber Security and Software Engineering.

IT desk

Bachelor of Information Technology

Develop advanced skills in information technology, including web development, data management and visualisation in an enterprise context, IT security management and project management.

Cyber

Bachelor of Science (Cyber Security)

Gain a solid grounding in conventional computer and network security concepts and skills, which involves computers and network enabled devices such as smartphones, tablet devices, and Internet of Things (IoT).

Gain direct entry to ECU

The Diploma (Year 2) programs are quality assured by ECU, so you can be confident that your program is of the highest quality. Students who successfully complete Diploma (Year 2)# are eligible for direct entry into the second year of the respective bachelor degree at ECU.

#Exclude Social Science and Biomedical Science.

Flexible trimester system

With 3 intakes per time (February, June and October), you can fast-track your studies and complete a one year program in only eight months.

If you need more flexibility, part-time study might be an option. You may also be able to change between full-time and part-time study during your course if your circumstances change.

More individualised classroom interaction

Lecture groups have a maximum of 50 students, although most classes average between 25 and 35 students. Lectures are complemented by group tutorials and workshops, ensuring you receive a high level of attention from your lecturers.

FEE-HELP Available

ECC is an approved Higher Education Provider and can offer FEE-HELP to eligible students to assist them in the payment of all or part of their tuition fees.

Located on ECU campuses

ECC is located on the Joondalup Campus West of Edith Cowan University. The Campus is 15 minutes walk from the Joondalup train station. A free bus service is also available to take you directly to the campus. ECC’s diploma programs are taught on Joondalup Campus West.

Access to ECU facilities

ECC is located in Building 80, ECU Joondalup Campus West. Students have access to ECU libraries, eLabs, medical facilities, cafes, sport facilities, security service and many more.
