Edith Cowan College (ECC)
provides alternative pathways to Edith Cowan University (ECU) for students who may not gain direct entry into a degree program and are looking for a supportive learning environment.

Year 12 graduates can be offered a place at ECC, regardless of whether they have completed WACE General subjects or ATAR. Upon completion of the Diploma program at ECC, you will gain entry into year twoˆ at Edith Cowan University.

How do I get the scholarship?

Valued up to A$4,525, the ECC Merit Based Scholarship is granted to top 10% of new students in their course at ECC. You must be enrolled in full time study at ECC. Read full terms and conditions.

Do I need ATAR to study at ECC?

You can apply for the diplomas at ECC with either WACE General or ATAR. If you have WACE General, you will need minimum 50% in four Year 12 General subjects (excluding English), and a pass/C in Year 12 English. If you have ATAR, you  only need a minimum ATAR of 50, and a pass/C grade in English. We also accept students who hold Cert II, Cert III or Cert IV.

What is it like to study at ECC?

The average class size is around 20-30 students. Classes are complemented by small group tutorials/workshops ensuring you receive the best of attention. There is also additional free learning support available to help you best achieve academic success.

How many days do I have to come to class?

All ECC classes are face-to-face. Standard classes are three hours, but some units may have longer classes or include additional classes for laboratories, workshops or tutorials. If you are a full-time student who is doing four units, this means 12 hours of classes per week. These hours are generally schedule across 3-4 days, but this can change from semester to semester.

Do I get FEE-HELP?

As an approved Higher Education Provider, ECC is able to offer FEE-HELP to eligible students to assist them in the payment of all or part of their tuition fees. Once you receive your Letter of Offer, you will be given the option to apply for FEE-HELP. If you wish to use FEE-HELP to cover your tuition fees, you will need to request a FEE-HELP form to complete and submit to ECC.

Where is the campus located?

ECC is located in Building 80, ECU Joondalup Campus West. Students at ECC have access to ECU libraries, eLabs, medical facilities, cafes, sport facilities, security service and many more. The campus is within a 10-minute walk from the Joondalup train station.
