Monday 5 July

The WA government has lifted the lockdown for people in Perth and the Peel region, but with compulsory wearing of masks and some restrictions staying, please check the official announcements.

What do these latest restrictions mean for ECC?

Effective from Monday 05-July-2021 to Friday 09-July-2021:
- The ECC campus will re-open;
- you must wear a mask when leaving your home and especially when coming onto ECC’s and ECU’s campuses;
- classes will continue as per the times advertised on your timetable;
- students with on campus classes, timetabled face-to-face, can decide if to attend the class in person, on campus, or if to attend via Zoom (virtually);
- the Welcome Centre will be open for enquiries as normal, in person, phone and email justask@ecc.edu.au;
- the Student Counsellor will be available for appointments, please email Amber directly to book a time amber.roche@ecc.edu.au

The Perth metropolitan area and Peel districts will enter a hard lockdown effective 12pm (midnight), Monday 28 June.

Further to today’s announcement by the Western Australian government, the ECC campus will be closed to staff, students, Pearson candidates and any other visitors until midnight Friday 2 July. This may change, dependent on advice by the Department of Health.

Students and staff members must notify ECC if they have been tested for COVID-19, are required to self-isolate/quarantine or have a confirmed case of COVID-19. Students and staff members must also advise the ECC of their test results.
If you have visited certain venues in Perth and Peel, you are required to get COVID-19 tested and isolate until you return a negative test result, or in some cases, quarantine for 14 days from the date of last exposure. View exposure locations on the HealthyWA website

Further to the Western Australian government's recent announcement, the Perth metropolitan area and Peel districts will have some restrictions imposed from 12 noon today for 3 days, however, this may change dependent on advice by the Department of Health. 

From Monday 28 June: 
• ECC will be open to students, visitors, PTE test-takers and staff

• The ECC Welcome Centre will be open with normal hours
• Room capacities will return to the 2sqm rule 

• Students should attend classes as per their timetable but masks must be worn
• The Pearson Test Centre will be at normal capacity


Please note the following:
• Face masks are required to be worn when inside, when on public transport and if you are unable to physically distance when outdoors
• You are encouraged to have a mask with you when you leave home

The WA Government will continue to deliver essential services and encourage the community, private businesses, households and individuals to stay calm and prepare.

  • Stay at home if you are unwell
  • Practice social distancing
  • Avoid gatherings
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water, or hand sanitizer
  • Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or use your inner elbow
  • If you have arrived from overseas, you will need to self-isolate for 14 days
