My name is Lesedi and I’m from Botswana. I’ve just completed my Diploma of Communications and Creative Industries at ECC and I’m now studying a Bachelor of Communications at ECU. I came to ECC through a sport scholarship in netball.
ECC has been a good place to prepare for university. I received a lot of support and education from the lecturers in my studies, especially with presentations where I learned to communicate and present in front of people with confidence. I’m looking forward to studying at ECU. It was also easy making friends because of the diversity of students. I got to learn about people from different backgrounds, which was a fun experience.
The ECU facilities are very equipped. I go to the ECU gym on campus, which was easy to apply to and affordable, costing $99 for the year.
I recently competed in the Western Invitation for ECU’s first team, which was a fun experience. We managed to get a silver medal, which was great for my portfolio and in learning the different ways netball is played in Australia. It gave me an idea of what the UniSport Competition at Gold Coast in September would be like, so, I’m very excited.
My scholarship journey started back home in Botswana, where I built my athlete portfolio and submitted it to the Botswana Sport Commission through my association and was selected for a scholarship.
I had an easy application process because of my agent. They helped find ECC as an education option for me and smoothly guided me through the visa process and medical checks.
