My name is Aidan. I’m an Edith Cowan College student, currently pursuing a diploma in communications and creative industries, with the intention of pursuing a bachelor’s in marketing, advertising, and public relations.
I had been aware of the scholarship since the moment I enrolled, so when I first saw that I had won over email, it was a huge deal for me! Recognition for the achievement I had been shooting for since I began my course.
The biggest influences on my studies were my family and the bonds I made on campus. My family was always willing to lend me a hand when I struggled, and knowing that the people around me were working towards the same goal as me made every day more bearable.
I finished my first trimester with a WAM of 81.3, a score I could be proud of, but also a reminder that I still had more to learn. The tip I would give to future students is to keep goals small. Big goals are discouraging because they don’t offer direction and often seem out of reach. Keep your goals achievable, and work bit by bit; you’ll achieve your aim before you know it.
