Last month, students from Tokyo City University (TCU) participated in a combined speaking class activity with ELICOS students at ECU. This weekly initiative brought AE3 and AE4 students together to build spoken fluency, confidence, and friendships through engaging discussions on personal topics.
As part of RU OK? Day, we also hosted a sausage sizzle event to raise mental health awareness. Students enjoyed the classic Aussie BBQ experience under Perth’s sunny skies, while connecting with peers in a relaxed, supportive environment.
These activities are part of the Tokyo City University Australia Program (TAP)—the largest Japan-Australia student mobility program. TAP offers Japanese students a semester-long study abroad experience at ECU, combining English language learning, academic study, and cultural immersion through the Experiencing Australia Program (EAP). Students attend ECC for 6–8 weeks of English classes and participate in excursions, workshops, and community engagement across ECU’s three campuses.
TAP is more than just a study program—it’s a journey of growth, connection, and cultural discovery that leaves a lasting impact.
