USA vs Greece: Perth’s Unforgettable United Cup Clash

Perth continues to shine as one of Australia’s most vibrant student cities — and if you’re a sports lover, there’s no better place to be.

In early January 2026, our students were treated to one of the biggest moments of the summer: the United Cup quarter-final between USA and Greece, held at RAC Arena. The energy was electric, the rallies were fierce, and the atmosphere was everything you’d want from world-class international tennis. It was a dramatic 2–1 win for Team USA — with Coco Gauff striking first against Maria Sakkari, Stefanos Tsitsipas answering back against Taylor Fritz, and the mixed doubles going down to a thrilling match tiebreak!

But that was just the beginning. Perth’s 2026 sports calendar is packed with major events, from sailing and rugby to basketball and multisport competitions — making it an unforgettable year for students to explore, connect, and cheer.
